Breaking Up Is Hard To Do

January 14, 2011 § 1 Comment

Clear nail polish serves numerous purposes in a woman’s life that have nothing to do with manicures. A few dabs will stop a runner in a pair of stockings, a thin coat on the nose pads of a glasses frame will stop an allergic reaction, and it’s even good to repel a male habitant for as long as the bottle is open.

Of course, there was no way that my high school boyfriend would have known this. Yes, this nail polish was a gift. And though I’m sure his mother probably picked it out for me, I’m not particularly inclined to throw away gifts. So this bottle has sat almost empty for years becoming progressively more stale, goopy and not good for much at all. Still, breaking up is hard to do. Sorry, wet shine, it’s not me. It’s you.
